Usage and Dosage:

Azithromycin tablets should be administered orally once daily, swallowed whole, with or without food

Indication:

·Azithromycin is a macrolide antibacterial drug indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate infections caused by sensitive strains of specified microorganisms in the following specific conditions.

·Acute episodes of chronic bronchitis bacterial infections caused by Haemophilus influenzae, Cattamora or Streptococcus pneumoniae.

·Community-acquired pneumonia caused by Chlamydia pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, or Streptococcus pneumoniae.

·Acute otitis media caused by Haemophilus influenzae, Cattamora or Streptococcus pneumoniae.

·Acute bacterial sinusitis caused by Haemophilus influenzae, Catamorax or Streptococcus pneumoniae Pharyngitis/tonsillitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes.

·Simple skin and skin structure infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, or Streptococcus lactis.

·Urethritis and cervicitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis or Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

·Male genital ulcerative disease (soft chancre) caused by Haemophilus ducreyi. The efficacy of azithromycin in the treatment of soft chancre in women has not been established because too few women were recruited for clinical trials.
