Usage and Dosage:

Tirofiban Hydrochloride Concentrated Solution for Injection must be diluted before use ( see Directions for Use). This product is for intravenous use only and requires sterile equipment. This product may be used in combination with regular heparin and is administered from the same fluid line. It is recommended that the product is administered using a graduated infusion set. Care must be taken to avoid prolonged loading inputs. Care should also be taken to calculate the IV push dose and drip rate based on the patient's weight.

The patients in the clinical study took aspirin except where contraindicated.

Indication:

For adult patients with non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS) within 12 hours of the last episode of chest pain with ECG changes and/or elevated cardiac enzymes to prevent

early myocardial infarction. Patients most likely to benefit are those at high risk of myocardial infarction within the first 3-4 days after the onset of acute angina symptoms, including those likely to undergo early percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
