Usage and Dosage:

Normally, adults take 1 to 2 mg of oral pitavastatin calcium once a day.

Dosage is increased or decreased as appropriate for age and response to therapy, and may be increased if LDL-cholesterol is not reduced sufficiently, with a maximum daily dose of 4 mg.

In cases of inadequate reduction of LDL-cholesterol, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 4 mg daily.

Indication:

Hypercholesterolemia, familial hypercholesterolemia.

For patients with critical conditions such as coronary heart disease and other patients with risk factors for cardiovascular disease, following the principles of the Chinese Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Dyslipidemia in Adults, pitavastatin can be used to lower TC, LDL-C, and TG, and raise HDL-C, so as to increase the rate of patients' compliance with the standard of lipid regulating therapy.

In patients with diabetes mellitus, diabetes mellitus with cardiovascular disease and acute coronary syndrome, statin is the first choice for lipid-lowering treatment.
