Indication:

1. for sedation during tracheal intubation and mechanical ventilation in surgical patients undergoing general anesthesia.

2. for sedation of patients starting intubation and ventilating during intensive care treatment, the product should not be infused continuously for more than 24 h.                 

3. the latest evidence indicates that dexmedetomidine combined with continuous infusion of general anesthesia has the same anti-stress effect as general anesthesia combined with mid-thoracic epidural block and can be used as an alternative. Because dexmedetomidine also has anti-inflammatory and immunoprotective effects and improves intestinal microcirculation, continuous infusion of dexmedetomidine can be used for laparotomies that are highly traumatic, have a long operative time, and experience ischemia-reperfusion injury.
